Mile of Lights Illuminates Community Spirit

December’s Mile of Lights Fun Run/Walk continued its record-breaking streak with over 950 people participating in the sixth annual event hosted by Winfield Recreation Commission and William Newton Hospital.

The event continues to set the mark for the largest event either organization has hosted.

As a thank you, event organizers donated a portion of the proceeds back to the Winfield Isle of Lights totaling $2,975. The contribution will directly support the annual Christmas light display tradition.

Held the second Sunday in December, the 2025 event is slated for Dec. 14.
