Sisk Delivers 1000 Babies at WNH

May 21, 2019

The 1000th baby vaginally delivered by midwife Tarena Sisk, CNM, APRN, at the William Newton Hospital Family Birthing Center in Winfield was born Tuesday, May 14 at 9:33 p.m.

Collins Wren Moberly, daughter of Brad and Stephanie, weighed seven pounds 6.9 ounces and was 19.75 inches long.

Sisk, who practices at Sunflower Ob-Gyn at the Physicians Pavilion in Winfield, started delivering at William Newton Hospital in 2012. She received her undergraduate degree from Pittsburg State University and completed her master’s degree in midwifery from Frontier School of Nurse Midwifery & Family Nursing. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board.

“WNH has consistently been recognized as a premier birthing center,” said William Newton Hospital Chief Executive Officer Ben Quinton. “Tarena’s dedication to providing a safe and meaningful birthing experience for families that deliver here is a big reason why.”

In recognition of this milestone, William Newton Hospital gifted the Moberlys 1000 diapers. Sunflower Ob-Gyn and the hospital jointly gave the family a commemorative silver spoon engraved by Schmidt Jewelers.

Baby Collins is sister to Kale, age 9, Haven, age 5, Presley, age 4 and Ki, age 1. The family resides in Oxford, Kansas.

Mom Stephanie said her fifth birthing experience at the William Newton Hospital Family Birthing Center was “good, as usual” and called the newest edition to the Moberly family their “unexpected miracle baby.”

The hospital and Sunflower Ob-Gyn invite families with children delivered by Sisk to attend a come-and-go reception celebrating 1000 deliveries on Tuesday, June 4 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m at the Physicians Pavilion. A photo opportunity will take place at 5:00 p.m. with a prize drawing to follow.

The William Newton Family Birthing Center is equipped with seven private rooms and two birthing suites. In 2018, William Newton Hospital welcomed 261 newborns to its nursery.
