William Newton Hospital Welcomes Dutton
Apr 08, 2025
At March’s meeting, William Newton Hospital trustees and administrators welcomed Brian K. Dutton to the board. Dutton fills an unexpired term held by Steve McSpadden, who retired in January.
"We are thrilled to welcome Brian Dutton to the WNH board of trustees," says hospital CEO Brian Barta. "His extensive experience in community banking and investments will be a valuable asset to the hospital as we navigate the evolving healthcare landscape. We look forward to his contributions and insights."
The five-member volunteer board of trustees at William Newton Hospital is appointed by the Winfield City Commission for five-year terms. Members are selected based on the skills and good judgment that have made them successful in their own professions, as well as a record of community service.
"Having a viable hospital is important to all communities, but especially in rural areas,” shares Dutton. “We’ve seen when a hospital goes down, so does the community. I want to help do everything we can to ensure William Newton Hospital is here to serve Winfield and its neighboring communities.”
A resident of Winfield for more than 40 years, Dutton leads the trust department at Community National Bank & Trust. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Southwestern College.
Dutton added that the field of healthcare is especially meaningful to his family. His wife Kim and daughters Kyndal and Brianna all have careers in healthcare. The Duttons also have one son, Marshall.
