Union State Bank's commitment to the health and well-being of our community continues. Since the William Newton Healthcare Foundation was established in 2007, the bank has contributed over $190,000. In renewing its annual pledge of $10,000, Union State Bank is named as the presenting sponsor for the foundation’s annual gala and benefit auction.
“Union State Bank is proud to continue our financial commitment to William Newton Hospital as the presenting sponsor for the 2024 Gala, marking our fourteenth consecutive year of support,” stated Cory Helmer, Winfield Market President of Union State Bank.
Union State Bank has been a cornerstone of William Newton Healthcare Foundation's success since the foundation's establishment in 2007. The bank has provided invaluable financial support and has been actively involved in the foundation's leadership. Moreover, Union State Bank employees have demonstrated their commitment to the community through volunteer work and personal contributions to the foundation.
Previous contributions from Union State Bank have supported physician recruitment, medical equipment upgrades, and various hospital renovations. Proceeds from the 2024 gala will be directed towards the Second Century Campaign, which supports Phase 2 of William Newton Hospital’s long-term plan to expand emergency care and meet demands for access to healthcare in Cowley County and neighboring regions.
Helmer shared his enthusiasm for the hospital's plans, “Access to quality rural healthcare has never been more important than now, and we are thrilled that this year’s contribution will be directed towards the Second Century Campaign and the emergency room expansion.”
William Newton Hospital CEO Brian Barta praised Union State Bank's ongoing support.
“Union State Bank is a true champion of our community, and we're incredibly grateful for their continued commitment to our hospital and our mission of delivering exceptional care,” Barta says. “USB is a shining example of the dedicated partners who help us provide essential healthcare services to our region.”
To date, the foundation has raised over $693,000 through its gala. The 17th annual event will be held at Behr Rafters in Winfield on Saturday, November 2. The James Bond, black-and-white themed formal gala will include entertainment, a five-course meal, and silent and live auctions.
