Dr. Beard Expands Outreach in Neodesha

Starting February 16, Ryan Beard, MD is returning to Neodesha to see patients at the Wilson Medical Center (WMC) specialty clinic located on the hospital campus at 2600 Ottawa Rd. Dr. Beard is now scheduling office visits on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

While physicians are an essential part of hospitals, clinics, and many other specialty services, nurse practitioners are often the best-kept secret at a medical practice. Nurse practitioners are able to do many of the same things doctors can, including seeing and diagnosing patients, ordering labs, prescribing medications, and making referrals. WNH has 10 nurse practitioners (NPs) who treat patients in a primary care setting. We asked a few of them about what they do in their clinics and why they think patients should consider seeing a NP as part of their regular health routine.

Occupational Therapy: Adding Life to Days

Traci Gronau, RN, is not a Winfield native but now considers Winfield home thanks in part to the dedicated therapists at William Newton Hospital (WNH). Traci was in a car accident on July 22, 2020 that left her paralyzed from the chest down. On her way to work as a nurse at Newton Medical Center, she was hit by a semi while crossing an intersection.
